09 November 2005AP-Plasma treatment of wooden surfaces
The described industrial plasma treatment process of wood was developed in cooperation with “Fachhochschule Göttingen” and TIGRES and patented. The process uses a barrier discharge (corona discharge) as a plasma source and was modified for the large area treatment of wooden surfaces. Plasma treatment is an industrial proven technology. In general, it can be incorporated in existing production lines.

09 November 2005Open atmospheric plasma in arbitrary length
Atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) sources, which produce an open, freely accessible and potential free plasma in atmospheric environment were up to now restricted to a width of several centimetres. Now, TIGRES have succeeded in developing a new electrode to produce this interesting plasma in arbitrary width.

09 November 2005Corona treatment of cable
Treating polyethylene or polytetrafluoroethylene cables with corona discharges just before a printing station eliminates insufficient wetting and insufficient adhesion of inks.

09 November 2005Measurement of cleaned surfaces
The effect of the cleaning by rinsing or by plasma-treatment can be measured by expensive methods in the laboratory. However, a wetting test with test inks is often sufficient for an industrial quality check. The methods of these tests are described in this paper.
